Yoshinobu Takahashi will begin his Okinawa workouts on January 11.  Teammate Harutomo Tsuji has been invited.

Chunichi Dragons

Shinji Tajima weighed eighty-eight kilograms just before the end of the season.  He was told to lose some weight during the off-season.  He is currently at eighty-three and is hoping to drop down to about eighty by spring camp.

About 400 million yen was spent on renovations to Yomitan Stadium in Yomitan, Okinawa.  Among the changes: the zoysia japonica grass was replaced with tifton grass; red dirt was swapped out with black dirt; and an electronic scoreboard was added.

Hanshin Tigers

Ryoma Matsuda was measured for new cleats on November 30.  He found out that he was throwing at only about seventy percent because of a bunion (gaihanboshi) in his right foot.  He hopes to strengthen the big toe and second toe by wearing beach sandals.

Ryosuke Ogata currently weighs seventy-two kilograms.  He hopes to make it to eighty kilograms at some point down the road and will settle for seventy-five by spring camp next year.

Kazuki Mishima will be working out with Daisuke Miura in Atsugi, Kanagawa next month.

Yoshitomo Tsutsugo will be shifted from third to the outfield next season.

Tsutsugo will have his work cut out for him.  Sho Aranami and Takayuki Kajitani will most likely win starting jobs in center and left, respectively.  Hitoshi Tamura, Tatsuhiko Kinjo, and Keijiro Matsumoto will be competing for the everyday job in right.  Tsutsugo will be vying for a spot in right.
