Happy New Year 2014

by on Jan.02, 2014 @ 4:53 pm, under Site Updates

It's a day late if you live in Japan, but nevertheless, I wanted to wish everyone and happy and healthy 2014.

For everyone that supported the Yakyubaka in 2013, I extend my sincerest gratitude and appreciation.  I hope that I can continue to provide you with your Japanese baseball fix.

On a side note, some of you may be a little surprised with the new design.  I hope it isn't too jarring or disturbing.  I recently noticed a growing number of users accessing the site through various portable devices, so I thought I would try my hand at responsive design.  There are still a lot of kinks to work out, so if you happen to notice anything strange, please feel free to let me know by either contacting me via e-mail or posting a comment below.

Gen, the text is too small.

Maybe it looks good on mobile but using normal computer browser it’s actually look smaller than the old design.

Any chance you can make it a little larger ?

I made the font one size larger. If I go up to the next size, I think it looks too big. Let me know what you think. I can also try the next size as well. (There’s a chance you’ll see a cached version if you just hit the refresh button on your browser so be sure to hit the F5 key.)

The other problem could be the font itself. I can also look into changing the font.

Gen, it looks great and a nice new change for 2014. I’ll check it out on my phone and tablet as well.

    Thanks for all you do,

It’s a bit jarring going from a light-on-dark theme to a dark-on-light one. But I will get used to it. Thanks for everything you do.

Sorry for the sudden change. It was something I was worried about at first, but I felt lighter colors were the best way to go because most of the news sites I link to usually have white or light gray backgrounds.
