Hiroshima Ball Park Town is made up of Mazda Stadium and portions of the area surrounding the stadium. It is part of a development project to create a symbiotic relationship between the Hiroshima Carp and the city. The project was split into two zones (A and B) to improve efficiency. Zone B, which includes a Costco, a Renaissance sports club, and a residential apartment building (to be complete some time next month) is close to nearing completion. The city of Hiroshima released plans for Zone A today.
Zone A will include an indoor training facility for the Hiroshima Carp; various halls for parties, wedding ceremonies, and other functions; and a second residential apartment building. The indoor training facilities are set to open later this year in November, with construction beginning in April. The various halls will not be ready until 2015 and the residential apartment building will not be ready until 2016.
