Chunichi Dragons

Michihiro Ogasawara worked out at Nagoya Stadium today.  His workouts ran over five hours and included about an hour of weight training, some running, playing catch, soft-toss batting practice, and some more weight training.

About five TV cameras and fifty members of the media approached Ogaswara for a comment.

"A change of scenery brings excitement.  There was a lot of media so that also pushed me.  Today was my first real day of training in 2014.  It was also the first time I did some hitting.  It felt very fresh.  February 1 will be the real start and that is what I am focusing on now," Ogasawara said.

Yakult Swallows

Taichi Ishiyama wants to pick up a new pitch this year.

"I think pitching will become easier for me if I can pick up another breaking pitch.  If I can get to the point where I can throw the shuto.  Control is not as important, if I can just let hitters know that I have it," Ishiyama said.
