Softbank Hawks

The Hawks announced that infield reserved seat tickets to the twelve exhibition games at YafuOku Dome will be sold at a special price of 490 yen (limited to 1,000 per game), beginning on the 15th.  The tickets will only be available through an online site accessed by mobile phone or smartphone.

Kenichi Nakata worked out in Guam today.  Workouts included running, long distance throwing, and a bullpen session (first session of the year, standing catcher, twenty-two pitches).  He told reporters his goal this season was to get as close to tossing 200 innings as possible.

Nippon Ham Fighters

Dai-Kang Yoh will be appearing in ad campaign in Taiwan that speaks out against suicide.  He volunteered his time for the commercial and was not paid an appearance fee.

Shohei Otani is planning to toss a bullpen session on two days of rest during workouts at Kamagaya.  He has so far thrown forty on the 8th and thirty-six on the 11th, both to standing catchers.  He has been told by the trainer to toss at least two sessions with a squatting catcher before the start of early training camp in Okinawa on the 23rd.

Otani has increased his weight from eighty-six to ninety kilograms over the past year.  His chest measurement has also increased from ninety-eight to 106 centimeters.

Otani threw twenty-nine pitches to a standing catcher today.  He mixed in curves, sliders, and change-ups.  He plans to toss one more session to a standing catcher before moving on to squatting catchers.
