Orix Buffaloes

Tatsuya Sato has an affinity for the number fifteen -- it was his number when he played Industrial League ball, it is his number now, and if he needs a number, it is usually the one he picks.  On Wednesday, the 15th, he began his workouts at 15:00 (3:00pm).

Takahiro Matsuba was sitting in the driver side seat when the taxi he was riding crashed into a guard railing last week.  Five other NPB players were riding in the taxi.  Everyone suffered minor scuffs and scrapes, but Matsuba was the only one to also suffer a bruise on his left wrist.  He told reporters on Wednesday he did not plan on sitting in the driver side seat for some time.
