Tetsuya Yamaguchi (30) does not wish to play for any team other than the Giants.  He could earn his domestic FA option in 2015 and his international FA option in 2016, but he has no interest in either.

"I am a player the Giants picked up [off the garbage heap].  I can play the game I love because of that.  I want to play for the Giants for as long as they need me.  That will not change even if another NPB team or MLB team shows interest in me.  I want to give back to the Giants.  That is the only thing I am thinking about," Yamaguchi said.

Tomoyuki Sugano would like to pitch at least 200 innings this season.  To do so, he knows he needs to cut back on the number of pitches he throws, make the necessary adjustments to pitch on five days of rest, and improve his hitting.

Hanshin Tigers

The Tigers are scheduled to release spring camp player assignments on the 23rd, however, they may wait until the last minute to make a decision on 1st round draft pick Yuta Iwasada.  Iwasada has missed a couple of practices because of a fever.  The coaches do not want to rush him, but would also rather have him attend Ichi-gun spring camp.  Instead of making a decision on him on the 23rd, they plan to take a wait and see approach to see just how far behind he is in his workouts.

Hiroshima Carp

1st round draft pick Daichi Osera tossed a bullpen session on Saturday, his first since the start of 2013 draft class training camp.  He started with eight warm-up tosses from behind the rubber and another eight warm-up tosses from the rubber.  He then told the catcher he was going to throw fifteen to twenty pitches.  When his twentieth pitch missed high, he asked for one more pitch and finished the session with twenty-one.  He threw at seventy to eighty percent.

Team official Jun Kawabata was impressed with the session, particularly with Osera's balanced mechanics.  He compared Osera to Hiroki Kuroda.
