Chunichi Dragons

The two catchers that caught 1st round draft pick Shota Suzuki's bullpen session on Tuesday, 3rd round draft pick Iori Katsura and bullpen catcher Toshikazu Yoshida, were impressed with his fastball.  Suzuki tries to put as much spin on his fastballs as he can so he can get a little "hop" on his pitches.  The two catchers were likely referring to the hop.

The Bay Stars have not asked Kiyoshi Nakahata to fully refrain from holding fielding practice sessions, they just want him to be aware that pushing players too much could result in injury.  Case in point: last spring Hiroyuki Shirasaki participated in one of his sessions and later missed some time with a right hamstring strain that might have been the result of overworking himself.
