Hirokazu Shiranita threw forty pitches to a standing catcher in the bullpen on Wednesday.  Shiranita told reporters he started feeling discomfort in his pelvis last summer and went to a clinic in Fukuoka for adjustments during the off-season.  He is better now and feels he is throwing with more stability in his lower half.

Development coach Masayuki Kakefu is scheduled to provide TV commentary for at least two games in March: a practice game against Lotte on the 1st and an exhibition game against Yomiuri on the 9th.

Hiroshima Carp

The media learned on Wednesday that Hiroshima will change Kenta Maeda's listed weight if he formally asks them to.  Maeda currently weighs eighty-three kilograms but is listed at seventy-three.  He started working on his weight after the 2011 season.  His listed weight has not changed since 2010.

1st round draft pick Daichi Osera will attend workouts on Friday, but will return to his university on Saturday to present his thesis.  He will resume workouts on the 26th.  He hopes to toss seventy to eighty pitches during his next bullpen session.  He is expected to toss his first bullpen session with a squatting catcher some time on or after the start of spring camp.
