Kenichi Nakata threw thirty-two pitches, all fastballs, to a standing catcher on Sunday.

When Nakata played for Chunichi, he relied on one restaurant to make his meals for him.  The Hawks are planning to help him find a similar place in Fukuoka.

According to Tokyo Sports, the Buffaloes think the Softbank Hawks might experience some problems on the base-paths with Dae-Ho Lee batting in the middle of their line-up.  The reason: the Buffaloes did not have any majors problems with Lee batting in the middle of their line-up because they did not have much speed at the bottom of their order.  The Hawks most likely will, which means Lee could slow things down for the bottom of the order if he gets on the base.

Orix pitchers do not appear to be worried about facing Lee.  They feel they have an advantage because they played with him for two years and know his weaknesses, like avoiding pitches up and on the outer portion of the plate, or attacking the inside corners and then going outside with breaking pitches.

Yuki Saito may have picked up a version of Kenta Maeda's stretch routine this off-season to help him keep his shoulders loose.  He told reporters he was not doing anything new, but people around him said they never saw him spin his shoulders around like Maeda until this year.
