Ryota Arai took forty-three during swings batting practice on Tuesday and hit three over the fence.

Daiki Enokida threw seventy-one pitches in the bullpen on Tuesday.  4th round draft pick Ryutaro Umeno caught the session.

Umeno took forty-seven swings during batting practice on Monday and collected twenty-four could-be hits, including one that went over the fence.

Shintaro Fujinami's workouts in Okinawa on Monday lasted about five and a half hours (from 10:00am until after 3:30pm) and included playing catch, running, batting practice, and weight training.  He did not toss a bullpen session.

Hayata Ito took fifty-one swings during batting practice on Monday and collected twenty-five could be hits, including two that went over the fence and six up against the outfield wall.  Ito's workouts on Monday started at 10:00am and ended at about 3:30pm.

Takashi Toritani visited children's ward at  Osaka City University Hospital on Monday.  When asked about this year's standings, he predicted Giants, Tigers, Carp, Dragons, Swallows, and Bay Stars.

Needless to say, the prediction was not very popular.  He later explained that he tried to look at things as objectively as possible.  He added that he and the Tigers would do their best to win first place and that in return, he expected the kids to do their best to get better.  He also promised to invite the kids to Koshien as soon as they were healthy enough.
