Pre-spring camp training camp ended on Thursday.

1st round draft pick Daichi Osera tossed fifty pitches to a squatting catcher.  He was originally planning to stop after twenty pitches, but kept going because he felt good.

Yusuke Nomura has already tossed six bullpen sessions with standing catchers.  He is planning to toss a session to a squatting catcher on the first day of spring camp for the first time since turning pro. ... He has managed to keep his weight at eighty-one kilograms during the off-season.

Nomura worked out from 9:30am until 7:00pm during workouts between January 10 and 27.  He has already tossed more than five sessions with half-bent catchers.  He is also working on a shuto.

According to Tokyo Sports, the Dragons are hoping Anderson Hernandez can do two things for them this season: help Shuhei Takahashi with his defense and be there for Hector Luna when he needs someone to talk to.

Chatan Stadium will be getting a new electronic scoreboard.  Construction will begin in November and should be ready in time for spring camp next year.  The project will cost about 160 million yen.

Yokohama Bay Stars

2013 draft class training camp at Bay Stars Stadium in Yokosuka, Kanagawa ended on Thursday.  1st round draft pick Yuta Kakita threw forty pitches to a squatting catcher in the bullpen.

The Bay Stars held a press conference for Guillermo Moscoso and Aarom Baldiris at the team offices in Yokohama on Thursday.

Moscoso would like to be called G or G-mo.  The first Japanese word he memorized was yakiniku, which he ate two days in a rows.
