  • Daisuke Miura - sixty-three pitches
  • Hisanori Takahashi - forty-seven pitches; mostly fastballs; with an umpire calling balls and strikes
  • Yasutomo Kubo - fifty-three pitches
  • 2nd round draft pick Shingo Hirata - sixty pitches

Daisuke Miura left the hotel at 6:15am on Saturday for his morning walk (about thirty minutes).  He plans to hold similar walks everyday during spring camp (not including off-days).

Miura stayed back in the bullpen after his session to watch other pitchers.  During pre-practice shout-outs, he said he wanted to win one more championship before retiring and asked for everyone's cooperation.

Takayuki Kajitani is still making his way back from a surgery he had in December last year to correct a blood circulation problem in his left index finger.  He will most likely take things slow during the first block of spring camp.

Kiyoshi Nakahata is planning to wear sunglasses during spring camp this year to keep the sunlight out of his eyes.  But there is also a secondary reason: he does not want players to know where he is looking during workouts.

Nakahata left the hotel at 8:30am on Saturday and spent about twenty minutes walking near the water.
