Masahiro Tanaka started his workouts at Kobo Stadium early today because the indoor training facilities were set aside for a junior high school softball team. Tanaka started playing catch some time past 8:00am. He maxed out his distance at about sixty meters and then started mixing in breaking pitches as he shortened the distance. He was able to throw the ball around for about twenty minutes.
When reporters asked if he was checking up on spring camp in Japan, he said he missed the news because he fell asleep. He left the stadium after 11:00am.
