by on Feb.06, 2014 @ 9:44 pm, under MLB

Former Softbank Hawk Bryan LaHair signed a minor league contract with the Cleveland Indians that includes an invite to Spring Training.  From MLB.com's Jordan Bastian:

... On Wednesday, Cleveland announced that it has signed LaHair to a Minor League contract that includes an invitation to attend Spring Training. The 31-year-old first baseman will compete for at-bats as a designated hitter and could work his way into the mix as a role player off the bench.

... In parts of three Major League seasons -- spent with the Mariners (2008) and Cubs (2011-12) -- LaHair posted a .260/.334/.430 slash line in 195 games. He owns a .295 average and .865 OPS in 970 career Minor League games. Last season, LaHair played for the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks, hitting .230 with 16 home runs and 57 RBIs in 11 [sic] games in Japan.

Masahiro Tanaka updates from Thursday, February 6, 2014.

  • Yoshiki Sato spoke to reporters today and said that Tanaka might be able to head to the United States as early as the 9th.  The media also learned that Tanaka got his visa on the 4th.
  • Tanaka did light workouts at Kobo Stadium today.  He also threw thirty-six pitches to a standing catcher  in the bullpen.
  • Tanaka did not show up at Kobo Stadium on Wednesday because an Industrial League team was using the facilities.
  • Tanaka was formally taken off the Eagles' reserved list on Wednesday.  The MLB team that successfully signs a posted player must pay the first installment of the posting fee within fourteen days of contract confirmation by the MLBPA and the commissioner's office.  NPB teams must then remove the player from their reserved list within five business days (which essentially means they become free agents).

Sorry to bother you again Gen.

Did you change the site font size again ?

Now it’s getting smaller like the first time.

Or is it maybe other readers actually requesting it to be small ?

I was actually meaning to ask if the size of the fonts were okay because I had to rewrite a chunk of the HTML and CSS and I think I reverted the font size back to what it was before I adjusted it. I don’t have time to fix the size right now, but I will do it before the end of the sorry. Sorry about the confusion and the trouble.
