Masanori Morita, creator of the manga series Rookies, drew illustrations of Shintaro Fujinami, Tsuyoshi Nishioka, Takashi Toritani, and Atsushi Nomi.  The images will be used in PR materials that will be appearing at major Kansai train stations and in major Kansai newspapers beginning on February 21.  The images will also be used in green rally flags that will be handed out to fans for free during a three-game series against Chunichi in April (1-3).

Sanspo Tigers' Promise: Yutaka Wada agreed to have dinner with three groups of Sanspo readers at Abeno Harukas if his team manages to win the Central League with eighty-six (uniform number) or more victories.  If he fails, he owes Sanspo and its readers as many autographed baseballs as the team wins.

Former Hanshin Tiger Wei-Chu Lin signed a contract with the Brother Elephants of the Chinese Professional Baseball League.  He reportedly agreed to a two-year deal worth an estimated thirty-one million yen.
