Shohei Tateyama started a practice game against Lotte on Tuesday. He retired the first hitter on a ground out to second and then started feeling discomfort in his right elbow after walking the second batter he faced. He took himself out of the game after facing two batters (twelve pitches). He was examined by the team trainer and later told reporters it was nothing major and that it was just some discomfort. He also played some catch to check on his arm.
The outing was Tateyama's first since April 5, 2013 (he had reconstructive surgery on his right elbow in April 2013).
