  • Yuya Ando, Kosuke Kato, 6th round draft pick Suguru Iwazaki, Katsuhiko Saka, Shinta Hifumi, and Fumiya Hojo joined the Ichi-gun team for workouts at Koshien on Friday.  Source: Sanspo 2/28/2014

  • Akira Iwamoto, Hiroaki Saiuchi, Yutaka Tamaki, Kazuyuki Kaneda, 5th round draft pick Shoya Yamamoto, and Naoto Tsuru will be given as many opportunities to pitch in exhibition games as possible.  All but Iwamoto are candidates for the starting rotation (he is a candidate for the bullpen).  Source: Sanspo 2/28/2014
