  • HAN: Kazuya Tsutsui entered the game in the 5th and gave up two runs on four hits in two innings of work.  He also committed a throwing error on a grounder back to the mound with runners on first and second and one out in the 6th.  He was slated to go three, but the outing was cut short because of his performance.

  • LOT: 1st round draft pick Ayumu Ishikawa started the game and gave up five hits but did not allow any runs to score over four innings of work.  He also walked one, induced two double plays (in the 1st and 4th innings), and topped out at 146km/h.
  • LOT: Shota Ishimine recorded three hits and was a home run away from hitting for the cycle.
  • ORI: Takahiro Matsuba started the game and gave up five runs on seven hits over three innings of work.  Three of the runs came in the 1st inning.
  • ORI: 8th round draft pick Satoshi Oyama entered the game in the 6th and retired the side in order.
  • ORI: Yuniesky Betancourt was the starting designated hitter and batted fifth.  He flied out to second in his only trip to the plate.
  • ORI: Naotaka Takehara hit a two-run home run off Ryoji Katsuki in the 8th that hit and broke a protective cover on the scoreboard.
