Orix Buffaloes

Yoshitomo Tani was scheduled to join Ichi-gun workouts on Monday in time to play in an exhibition game against Yokohama on Tuesday, but left foot pain delayed his arrival.  Tani was examined at a hospital on February 28.  There was swelling in the foot, but no broken bones.  The pain is likely due to fatigue/overuse.  If Tani is not careful, it could turn into a stress fracture.

1st round draft pick Kazumasa Yoshida has been taking things slow because of tightness in his right shoulder.  He might start the year at Ni-gun because the coaches do not want to rush him.
