Naniwa High School withdrew from their Spring Kinki Region Osaka Qualifier game on the 27th after they learned a member of the team slapped a teammate.

According to the school, a number of second-year players rounded up all their first-year teammates for a meeting before classes on the 22nd.  The second-year players told their first-year teammates to stop using Twitter because it was not allowed.  One of the second-year players then slapped a first-year teammate on the cheek (once).  The second-year player has since apologized to the first-year teammate.  The first-year teammate did not suffer any injuries.

The incident came to light when parents contacted the school on the 25th.  The school in turn filed a report with the Osaka High School Baseball Federation and withdrew from their game on the 27th.  The team has been suspended.
