The Japan Women's Baseball League (JWBL) announced on Monday that six of its players were invited to try out for the Women's Samurai Japan team that will competing at the 6th IBAF Women's Baseball World Cup in September.

The Women's Samurai Japan team will be playing three exhibition games at the Kantaiheiyo University field in Okayama on May 10 and 11. The JWBL players are scheduled to participate in the three games. The two West Flora players will be with the team on May 10 and 11. The remaining four players will be with the team on May 11.
A total thirty-two candidates are on the preliminary roster. Twenty are required for the World Cup.
- Game 1 - May 10 @ 13:30 - mixed team from Chugoku and Shikoku
- Game 2 - May 11 @ 09:00 - mixed team from Kansai
- Game 3 - May 11 @ 12:30 - mixed team from Kansai
The Tanaka Setsuko Kyoto Kekkon Juku (Marriage School) is teaming up with the Japan Women's Baseball League to organize a baseball-themed konkatsu (an event where people can meet potential marriage partners) for 100 people (fifty men, fifty women). The konkatsu will take place before a Victoria Series game on June 7, 2014 at Wakasa Stadium Kyoto. Admission will be 7,980 yen per person.
