  • Eishin Soyogi tied a franchise record by hitting his second walk-off home run of the season on Tuesday.  Koji Yamamoto (1983), Kiyoyuki Nagashima (1984), Kenjiro Nomura (1995), Hiroki Asai (2000) have all hit two walk-off home runs in a one season.  Soyogi is the only one that hit both in extra innings.  The NPB record of five was set by Jack Howell in 1993.   • Brad Eldred tied an NPB record by striking out five times during Tuesday's game against the Hanshin Tigers. Source: Sanspo 5/14/2014, Nikkan Sports 5/14/2014 ... Eldred is hitless in his last thirteen trips to the plate.  That includes nine strikeouts, a fly out, and three ground outs (two double plays).
  • Four walk-off home runs have been hit in the Central League so far this season.  All four have been hit by a Hiroshima player.  No other team in NPB history has managed to record their league's first four walk-off home runs. Source: Nikkan Sports 5/14/2014
