Hanshin Tigers

  • Ryoma Matsuda (right elbow) worked out at Naruohama on Thursday.  He played some catch -- about ten minutes, forty throws between twelve to thirteen feet -- for the first time since February 18. Source: Nikkan Sports 5/15/2014, Sanspo 5/15/2014
  • Development Coach Masayuki Kakefu watched Hiroki Uemoto (right thumb) take outdoor batting practice on Wednesday and was impressed with the session.  He believes Uemoto, at least with regards to his bat, might be able to return to the active roster in time for the start of Inter-league play on the 20th. Yokohama Bay Stars

  • Tony Blanco (left thigh) played in a Ni-gun game against Nippon Ham on Wednesday.  He was the starting designated hitter and batted clean-up.  He went 1-for-3.  He is slated to return to the active roster on Friday. Source: Sanspo 5/15/2014, Daily Sports 5/15/2014

Chiba Lotte Marines

  • Tadahito Iguchi missed Thursday's game against Softbank at QVC Marine because of swelling in the fingers on his right hand (middle, ring, and pinky).  Hitting the ball off the end of the bat was the likely cause of the swelling.  His status for Friday's game is unknown. Nippon Ham Fighters
