[5/16/2014] Injury Report: Kentaro Nishimura, Hirokazu Sawamura (Yomiuri)

Yomiuri Giants

  • Kentaro Nishimura hurt the back of his right thigh while trying to cover first base during a Ni-gun game against Rakuten on the 14th.  He was examined on Friday and was diagnosed with a strain in his biceps femoris. Source: Daily Sports 5/16/2014
  • Leslie Anderson (right biceps femoris) was at the facilities in Kawasaki on Thursday.  His workouts included riding an exercise bike and swinging a bat while seated. Source: Sponichi 5/16/2014
  • Hirokazu Sawamura (right shoulder) could pitch an inning of rehab during a two-game Ni-gun series against Nippon Ham that begins on the 20th.  He worked a batting practice scrimmage on Thursday.  He faced Yoshiyuki Kamei, Suguru Ino, and Ryuichi Kajimae.  They went 2-for-11 with two walks against him.  He threw forty-five pitches and topped out at 141km/h. Hanshin Tigers
