I would really like to see Wada called up. He’s been pretty darn solid and his K-rate is over 1/inning. It is not as though the Cubs’ starting rotation doesn’t have room for him. Samardzija and Hammel have been extremely good, but Wood/Jackson/Villaneuva has ERAs in the mid-4’s (Wood/Jackson) or over 7 (Villaneuva). Not quite sure why the Cubs don’t call up Wada and at least maybe get something for him in a trade. Wada would be a really nice piece of the puzzle (perhaps) for a contender since his contract is so dirt cheap and flexible.
