Kazuhiro Hatakeyama left Sunday's game against the Seibu Lions at Jingu Stadium with an injury to his left hamstring. He was on second base in the 6th inning when Yuhei Nakamura hit a ball off the wall in right. Hatakeyama was heading toward third when he heard a pop and began feeling pain.
Slightly different quotes from two sources -
Nikkan Sports: "I was a little slow to judge the ball and I got hurt when I tried to run faster. It was around third base. I heard a pop so it can't be nothing. I had some tightness in the area the last week or two so I was trying to be careful."
Sponichi: "I got a late start because I couldn't get a good read on the ball. I've been playing with some tightness in my left hamstring and I [accidentally] ran at 100 percent. I head something when I rounded third."
Hatakeyama will be examined at a hospital on Monday morning.
