The NPB informed members during meetings in Tokyo on Monday that next year's Premier 12 will be taking place in Taiwan. There were discussions about Taiwan and Japan playing host to the event, but those talks fell through.
"It is between Taiwan and the International Baseball Federation. Talks with Japan are over. Discussions for opening in Taiwan are moving forward. If it does open in Taiwan, we are interested in providing support in terms of promoting baseball," said NPB Secretary General Atsushi Ihara.
Additional details for this year's World Children's Baseball Fair (WCBF) were released at a hotel in Tokyo on Monday.
The WCBF will take place in Ehime between July 30 and August 7. Children from fifteen countries/regions are scheduled to attend. They will have a chance to participate in friendly games and baseball clinics.
