  • The Eagles were planning to host Senichi Hoshino Day on Thursday.  The game (and the event) was rained out and rescheduled for Friday.  All Most seats for the game will be available for 1,001 yen. Source: official announcement

Orix Buffaloes

  • Shunta hit a pinch-hit grand slam on Wednesday against the Yokohama Bay Stars.  It was the first pinch-hit grand slam for the Buffaloes since Takahiro Okada on September 16, 2010.  It was also the ninth time in NPB history a pinch-hitter hit a grand slam after replacing another pinch-hitter, first since Kenji Yano on May 31, 2007. ... Naotaka Takehara was announced as the pinch-hitter for Tatsuya Sato in the bottom of the 8th.  The Bay Stars countered by bringing in Shigeru Kaga.  The Buffaloes then turned to Shunta.  Source: Sanspo 6/12/2014 ...
