Yomiuri Giants

  • Tomoyuki Sugano worked out at Giants Stadium on Thursday.  He missed practices on the 9th with a fever.  He told reporters he was fully recovered.  He is slated to make his next start on the 14th against Rakuten. Source: Nikkan Sports 6/12/2014

Hanshin Tigers

  • Shintaro Fujinami's next start will likely come on the 17th against Nippon Ham at Koshien Stadium. Source: Sports Hochi 6/12/2014 ... Through Wednesday, Fujinami has given up thirty-five runs, seventeen of which have come with two outs.  Last season, he gave up eighteen of forty-eight runs with two outs. Chunichi Dragons

  • Daisuke Sobue pitched in a Ni-gun game against Hanshin on Thursday.  He entered the game in the 9th and tossed a shutout inning.  He gave up one hit and topped out at 145km/h. Source: Nikkan Sports 6/12/2014

Yakult Swallows

  • The Swallows recorded a 1-0 shutout victory on Wednesday where the lone run scored on a lead-off home run in the top of the 1st.  It was the sixth time (third time in the Central League) a 1-0 game was decided on a lead-off home run in the top of the 1st, first in the NPB since Nippon Ham on May 1, 2001 against Kintetsu; first in the Central League since Taiyo on May 29, 1969 against Chunichi; and first in franchise history since April 15, 1959.
