"We continue to play difficult games during the Inter-league season and I apologize to the fans and stockholders for causing concern.  When teams are losing, people begin to look for reasons and every decision gets highly scrutinized.  I would like to trust the manager and let him handle things.  I hope everyone can understand.  I look forward to your support," team president Nobuo Minami said. • Mauro Gomez could become the first foreign player in franchise history to hit a home run against eleven different NPB teams in one season.  All he needs to do is hit a home run against Nippon Ham next week (June 17-18).  The last Japanese players in franchise history to hit a home run against eleven different NPB teams in one season was Tomoaki Kanemoto and Makoto Imaoka in 2005. If Gomez hits a home run against Nippon Ham on either the 17th or 18th, he will set a new speed record for quickest to hit home runs against eleven different NPB teams (sixty-fifth or sixty-sixth game).  The current record of sixty-seventh game was set by Tony Blanco in 2009.
