Yakult Swallows

  • Akinori Iwamura became the eleventh player to hit four doubles in one game on Saturday.  Only three other players from the Central League have accomplished the feat: Isamu Fujii in 1951, Mitsuo Motoi in 1979, and Susumu Watanabe in 1981.  Iwamura also became the seventh player (third in the Central League) to record the doubles in successive trips to the plate.
