  • Koji Aoyama started a Ni-gun game against Yomiuri on Monday.  He gave up an earned run on four hits over four innings of work.  He walked none and struck out one.  He is currently slated to get an Ichi-gun start on the 28th against Nippon Ham at Sapporo Dome.  It will be his first Ichi-gun start since 2011. Chiba Lotte Marines

  • Yoshifumi Okada has not hit a home run in 1,730 trips to the plate since his debut.  He is forty plate appearances away from tying the NPB record of 1,770, set by Shichiro Yokozawa in 1947.  Okada and Yomiuri's Tetsuya Matsumoto (1,314 PA) are the only two players in the NPB currently active without a home run in 1,000 or more trips to the plate. • Craig Brazell, Chad Huffman, and Luis Cruz hit home runs on Monday.  It was the first time three foreigners went yard for the same team in the same day since Aarom Baldiris, Vinny Rottino, and Dae-Ho Lee for Orix on May 15, 2013; and the first time in franchise history since Benny Agbayani, Matt Franco, and Seung-Yeop Lee on September 21, 2004.  Huffman also became the twenty-first foreign player to hit a grand slam for his first NPB home run, first since Esteban German on June 30, 2012.  Huffman and Val Pascucci are the only two foreign players to accomplish the feat with Lotte. Haven’t see anything else on Ogino yet. The guy can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to injuries.
