  • Yoshihisa Naruse was taken off the active roster on Wednesday with discomfort in his left shoulder.  Naruse first started feeling discomfort in his shoulder during his start against Yakult on Monday (June 23).  He was supposed to pitch eight innings that day, but left after seven.  He was hoping things would improve on Tuesday, but the shoulder felt no better when he played catch during workouts.  Assuming no significant changes to his condition, he could return during a nine-game stretch that begins on July 8.  Naruse told reporters this was not the same shoulder problem he had last year that sidelined him for about three months.
