Chiba Lotte Marines

  • Takuya Furuya was taken off the active roster on Thursday due to performance issues -- he gave up three runs (all earned) on five hits and a walk over 0.1 innings of work on Wednesday against the Yakult Swallows. Source: Sanpso 6/26/2014

Orix Buffaloes

  • The Buffaloes are planning to split Chihiro Kaneko and Yuki Nishi in the rotation.  Kaneko is scheduled to start Friday's game against Lotte with Nishi moving back to start a game against Rakuten on July 1. Kaneko could get starts on five-days of rest after his outing on Friday.  That would put Kaneko and Nishi in line for starts during the Softbank series that begins on July 8.  The Buffaloes play the Hawks just once before the All-Star break.   • 2nd round draft pick Daiki Tomei started a Ni-gun game against Hanshin at Naruohama on Thursday.  He gave up three runs on five hits over three innings of work.   The three runs scored on a three-run home run Hayato Ito hit in the 2nd inning.  Tomei could get an Ichi-gun start on July 3 against Rakuten at Kyocera Dome.
