The Baseball Federation of Japan announced on Friday that they will conduct research into coaching methods and injuries for youth baseball players. The study will take place over a two-year period beginning this year and will cover 10,000 elementary school-aged players and 520 coaches (both hard and rubber baseball leagues). Surveys will be handed out to players and coaches. Specialists in the field of orthopedics will analyze the data to see if there are any correlations between things like coaching methods, practice amounts, and injuries.
