Rakuten Eagles

  • Zach Lutz developed a stomachache before Saturday's game against Nippon Ham and was examined at a hospital in Sapporo.  He ended up missing the game and was diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis.  His status for Sunday's game in uncertain. Source: Sports Hochi 6/28/2014

Chiba Lotte Marines

  • Kazuya Fukuura was added to the active roster on Saturday.  It was the first time he made the active roster this season because he got off to a slow start during spring camp with lower back tightness. Source: Sports Hochi 6/28/2014

Nippon Ham Fighters

  • Juan Miranda returned to workouts on Saturday.  He took pre-game batting practice for the first time in three days.  He missed games on Thursday and Friday because he was not feeling well.  He did not make the starting line-up on Saturday, but was available off the bench.   • Satoshi Nakajima played in his twenty-eighth season on Friday.  The twenty-eight seasons is good for sole possession of second on the all-time list for most seasons played.  Of the twenty-eight seasons under his belt, one was with a Central League team.  The twenty-seven seasons with Pacific League teams set a new high, breaking the previous record of twenty-six held by Katsuya Nomura.  At forty-five years and three months, Nakajima became the first position player to appear in a game after turning forty-five since Nomura on October 4, 1980 (also forty-five years and three month).
