Rakuten Eagles

    Wakui’s not going to the bullpen. Publications reporting that haven’t looked at how desperate the starting pitching situation is. Wakui’s not been good, but he’s got the third best ERA of starters on the team.

      I think the reports only mention it because Ito said he couldn’t give Wakui preferential treatment and that a shift to the bullpen was not an impossibility. He also said it was unlikely right now because, as you say, they need the arms for the rotation.

      This was something that was a sore spot for Wakui when he was with Seibu, so it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that it resurfaced.
