Nobuhiro Matsuda hurt his right index finger while taking pre-game fielding practice on Wednesday. He went on to play in game and went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double to two RBI.
Matsuda still felt pain in his finger today and was examined at a hospital in Fukuoka. He was diagnosed with a fracture in his distal phalanx and taken off the active roster. He will require six weeks for a full recovery.
