Hanshin Tigers

  • 1st round draft pick Yuta Iwasada (left elbow) will probably pitch in three to four more Ni-gun rehab games.  He might be able to make the active roster some time in August, assuming no setbacks. Source: Daily Sports 7/3/2014

Rakuten Eagles

  • Zach Lutz made the starting line-up as the designated hitter and batted fifth against Orix on Thursday.  He was replaced after he struck out in his first trip to the plate.  The team trainer told reporters Lutz was pulled as precaution because he had difficulty using his right arm that got hit by a pitch on June 29.  He is considered day-to-day.
