Miyazaki Prefecture announced that shochu maker Kirishima Shuzo bought the naming rights to the facilities at Miyazaki Prefectural Comprehensive Sports Park. Beginning in October, Sun Marine Stadium Miyazaki will be known as Kirishima Sun Marine Stadium Miyazaki. Other facilities within the park, like the Budokan and the track and field stadium, will also carry the Kirishima name.
The prefecture accepted bids for the naming rights to the facilities between May and June to help pay for the costs to keep the park open. Kirishima was the only company to submit a bid. The two sides agreed to a contract worth forty million yen a year over five years.
