[7/18/2014] JPBPA to request a coefficient of restitution target value, instead of upper and lower limits
The Japan Professional Baseball Players Association (JPBPA) held a meeting in Tokyo today. Among issues discussed:
- submitting a request to replace the upper and lower coefficient of restitution limits with a single target value to shoot for. The NPB and the twelve teams will most likely approve the request and implement changes to the rules for the 2015 season.
- requesting a time limit extension for players that are deciding whether or not to accept or decline a cut in salary that goes over the limits.
- asking for an increase in the number of games Western League teams play.
- increasing the number of opportunities active professional players have to interact with high school players by working with the Japan High School Baseball Federation.
