Softbank Hawks

  • Keizo Kawashima has been assigned the number thirty-five, Ryo Hidaka the number forty.  Kawashima will most likely play in a Ni-gun game against Orix at YafuOku Dome on the 25th.  His assignment will be decided based on how well he does during the game. Orix Buffaloes

  • Keiichi Hirano did not play on Monday because of pain in his right calf.  He is considered day-to-day. Source: Sanspo 7/21/2014
  • The Buffaloes were in Cuba between the 13th and 18th.  They met with officials from the Baseball Federation of Cuba and had a chance to see a number of players.  The organization does not plan on signing any players from Cuba this year, but are interested in possibilities for next season. Nippon Ham Fighters

  • Dai-Kang Yoh left Monday's game early with tightness in the front of his left thigh.  He started feeling the tightness while running to first on a ground out to second in the 8th.  He was replaced on defense in the 8th. Source: Nikkan Sports 7/21/2014
  • Michel Abreu was scheduled to play in a Ni-gun game against Yokohama on Monday.  He was scratched from the game because he was not feeling well. Source: Sponichi 7/21/2014
  • Hideki Kuriyama is not planning to use Shohei Otani in the starting line-up (pitcher and position player) during the first series after the All-Star break.  He would like Otani fully prepared for what could be his next scheduled start on the 26th against Rakuten at kobo Stadium.
