New York Mets

Daisuke Matsuzaka felt some discomfort after his outing on Thursday and returned to New York for an examination. From the Star Ledger's Mike Vorkunov:

... The Mets will not make a move, if they have to, until they know the results of the MRI. Matsuzaka was looked at by the medical staff here and then a decision was made to send him to New York.

Matsuzaka felt something in his elbow while warming up for his appearance Thursday but felt he could pitch through it, Terry Collins said. But after he pitched two innings and allowed three runs -- including two home runs -- the elbow bothered him more.
