Seibu Lions

  • Hichori Morimoto's wife gave birth to the couple's first child, a girl weighing 3,276 grams, at 9:34am on the 26th. Source: Sanspo 7/26/2014

Chiba Lotte Marines

  • Tsutomu Ito was tossed from Saturday's game against Seibu for using abusive language while arguing a call in the 6th -- he thought Shogo Akiyama struck out swinging on a ball in the dirt but the home plate umpire thought it was fouled off. Source: Nikkan Sports 7/26/2014 ... Ito on what happened: "I asked him to check with a base umpire.  I did not use abusive language.  I'm not sure why I was ejected." Source: Sponichi 7/26/2014 ... Ito also said that some of the sand he kicked might have hit the umpire.  He may have gotten tossed for saying, "I think something's wrong with you today."  Catcher Ryohei Kawamoto was warned after asking the umpire why the manager was ejected.
