  • The Marines usually sell about 3,000 advance tickets to weekday night games.  They sold over 10,000 advance tickets for Tuesday night's game against Nippon Ham.  It was half-off beer night on Tuesday, but it was also Alfredo Despaigne's debut game.  The Marines added a Despaigne cocktail to the alcoholic beverage menu at Bar M to celebrate his arrival. Nippon Ham Fighters

  • Hideki Kuriyama believes Yuki Saito and Mitsuo Yoshikawa will be important important pieces during the second-half.  Saito is slated to start Thursday's game against Lotte at QVC Marine.  Yoshikawa is scheduled to start a game on August 1 against Softbank at Sapporo Dome.   • Shohei Otani could get Sunday starts during the month of August since the Fighters do not have any games scheduled on Monday.  Otani would get the start on Sunday, the day-off on Monday, play in three full games as a position player (Tuesday-Thursday), then spend the next two days (Friday and Saturday) preparing for his start.
