Yomiuri Giants

  • Hirokazu Sawamura was taken off the active roster on Wednesday after giving up a career high seven runs (all earned) on twelve hits over 4.1 innings of work on Tuesday against the Yokohama Bay Stars. Source: Sponichi 7/30/2014

Hanshin Tigers

Yokohama Bay Stars

  • The Bay Stars finished the month of May 13-12-0 the month of June 9-9-0, and will finish July with a winning record.  The last time they finished at least three consecutive months with .500 or better records was in 1999 (June to August). Source: Sponichi 7/30/2014
  • The Bay Stars won their third straight game against the Yomiuri Giants on Tuesday night.  The last time they won three in a row against the Giants was in 2011 (September 29, October 4, 5).  Yasutomo Kubo became the first Yokohama pitcher to win three in a row against the Giants since Kimiyasu Kudo in 2007.  Every hitter in the starting line-up recorded at least one hit in two straight games (July 27, 29) for the first time since 1998 (September 13, 15).
