The Central League held a meeting in Tokyo on Friday. They discussed the Inter-league schedule and will likely continue to push a reduction to eighteen games during the next twelve-team meeting on the 4th. The Pacific League held a similar meeting on July 28. They will most likely work to maintain the current schedule of twenty-four games.
The NPB is running a Big Share Baseball Campaign during the month of August as part of their Green Baseball Project. The aim is to get more fans to the ballpark to help offset costs to individually cool homes. The NPB will put money toward environmental conservation or other improvement activities based on how many fans attend games in August. The NPB estimates a total figure of about 1.5 million yen.

Samurai Japan announced on Friday that they picked up Rakuten Card (credit card company) as their latest sponsor. The two sides agreed to a deal that will run through to the World Baseball Classic in 2017.
Samurai Japan now has four sponsors: Mizuno, All Nippon Airways, JTB, and Rakuten Card.
