Messenger set a new franchise record for foreign pitchers by extending his winning streak against the Yomiuri Giants this season to four.  Bacque (1964) and Matt Keough (1988, 1990) were the previous record-holders.  The last Japanese pitcher to go on a four-game winning streak against the Giants from the start of the season was Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi in 2005.  Including his last win against the Giants in 2012, Messenger is in the middle of a five-game winning streak against Yomiuri.  The franchise record of eight is currently held by three pitchers: Tadayoshi Kajioka (1947-1948), Shigeru Kobayashi (1979), and Atsushi Nomi (2009-2011).  Messenger drove in two RBI on Tuesday and became the first pitcher in franchise history to record seven RBIs in one season since Toshiro Yufune in 1992.
