Naoki Miyanishi (29) earned his domestic FA option on Tuesday with seven years of service time on the active roster. Miyanishi told reporters he appreciate everything the organization did for him over the years. He also said he did not want to think about the option because wanted to focus on the current season. The Fighters would like Miyanishi to stay and could offer a multi-year deal.
Miyanishi is the first player to earn the domestic option in seven years under revised rules (players drafted out of college or the Industrial League before 2007 need eight years of service time, players drafted out of college or the Industrial League in or after 2007 need seven).
Keiji Obiki also earned his domestic FA option today with either years of service time on the active roster.
